Overview
Eko develops intelligent stethoscope hardware and companion software that amplify and digitize heart and lung sounds and—in the DUO device—combine ECG with digital auscultation. The company sells the CORE stethoscope (amplifies sound up to 40x, captures/saves/shares audio, Bluetooth‑enabled) and the DUO (handheld ECG plus digital stethoscope for clinic or home use). Its products are sold to clinicians, hospitals, departments and health systems (not direct to consumers) and are used by tens of thousands of clinicians across over 4,000 hospitals, health systems and provider sites in the U.S. and Europe; the devices have screened millions of patients. Eko pairs its hardware and software with machine‑learning algorithms to automate analysis, but the ML algorithms are currently only in clinical studies and have not yet received FDA clearance. The company says it will use new funding to continue clinical studies for its algorithms, pursue FDA clearance, expand product development and extend the technology beyond cardiovascular applications. Eko’s stated goal is to provide decision‑support at the point of care and to enable remote monitoring that closes the loop with care teams to identify disease earlier.
