Goal Zero designs and sells portable solar power systems used to charge devices on camping trips, run essential equipment during natural disasters, and keep users powered when grid access is unavailable. Its products are sold through major retailers including Amazon, Best Buy, Costco, Cabela’s, Lowe’s, REI and other national channels. The company positions itself as an industry leader in renewable and reliable solar power and was honored with an Innovation Award at the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show. To accelerate retail, online and international sales, Goal Zero partnered with growth investor Mercato Partners. Mercato invested $7M of growth capital and is providing operational support to expand channels and markets. A Mercato director (Aaron DeRose) also serves as a Goal Zero board member.
