Green Spot Technologies develops and manufactures fermented, upcycled ingredients that can partially or fully replace cocoa in a variety of recipes. Using solid-state fermentation, the company transforms plant-based raw materials such as fava beans, grape pomace and other local fibers into powders, fillings and chocolate-style chips marketed under its new MILATEA brand. These ingredients are positioned to lower cost and deliver up to an 80 % reduction in CO₂e emissions, providing customers with a measurable Scope 3 footprint benefit. Production currently takes place at the firm’s facility in Carpentras, France, and the newly raised capital will allow it to expand output ten-fold—from 100 t to 1,000 t per year. The company plans to deepen its presence across bakery, pastry and confectionery markets while collaborating with chefs, researchers and industrial partners to make “sustainable indulgence” scalable. Most MILATEA products are vegan, with plant-based alternatives available for any that are not.
