Grit builds tools that can modify codebases at scale by letting developers express high-level goals (for example splitting a monolith, upgrading frameworks, or converting JS to TypeScript) and delegating implementation to AI agents. The platform combines those AI agents with static analysis that understands code at the level of a compiler or interpreter, plus deterministic, declarative rules for sensitive parts of a codebase. Developers can choose how much detail to specify, enabling large swathes of code to be changed automatically while retaining precision where needed. Grit is launching an open beta with support for JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, CSS, and Terraform.
