Groove Biopharma

400 North Aberdeen, Chicago, IL, United States

Overview

Groove Biopharma develops therapeutics using Minor Groove Binder (MGB) technology to modulate microRNA (miRNA) function. The company holds an exclusive license to Elitech's patented methods for preparing MGB-appended oligonucleotides and has demonstrated potential in both in vitro and in vivo studies. Groove's MGB-oligonucleotide compounds are intended to improve target selectivity, potency, and pharmacological activity across indications including cancer, infectious disease, inflammation, fibrosis, and metabolic or degenerative disorders. Current efforts focus on selection and validation of candidates for advanced preclinical testing and progression toward clinical development and IND-enabling studies. Groove will remain housed at Accelerator Corporation in Seattle to leverage in-house management expertise and financial efficiencies. The company promoted David L. McElligott, Ph.D. to Chief Scientific Officer as it advances development of its proprietary miRNA delivery platform.
