Gracious Eloise has developed an algorithmic platform that digitizes anyone’s handwriting so users can type messages that are rendered in their unique handwriting style. The system intentionally introduces tiny differences in lettering and spacing so repeated messages do not look identical, and it offers tools to tidy up handwriting or add embellishments. The company is entirely digital (unlike robotic-arm solutions) and is targeting developers via an API rather than a consumer-facing product. Early vertical focuses include gift registries, greeting cards, ecommerce, CRM, direct mail, and integrations for chat and email. The team reduced handwriting-digitization time from about three hours at launch to roughly ten minutes after algorithmic improvements. Gracious Eloise has received $3 million in Series A funding from a group of venture investors.
