Hangry operates a platform that transforms VTC vehicles and taxis into mobile stores where passengers can sample, buy and view advertising for consumer products. Passengers scan a QR code or visit www.hangry.es (no app required), browse a menu and pay by cash, card, Google Pay or Apple Pay; drivers receive a notification and deliver the items. The service combines sampling, sales and analytics for brands, and clients include Kellogg’s, Mondelez International, Red Bull and L’Oréal. The company was created by Wassim Berro and Maurice Karam and is being supported by the Lanzadera accelerator. Hangry currently operates in Madrid and planned expansion to Valencia and Barcelona during the year. Financially, Hangry closed its first seed round of €1 million in January 2020.
