Overview
Headstrong Project delivers confidential, cost-free in-person and telehealth treatment programs for PTSD and military-related trauma to veterans, service members, and their families across 12 states and 28 markets. Founded in 2012, the organization operates a network of military-informed, trauma-trained private practice clinicians rather than relying on traditional brick-and-mortar institutions. Headstrong currently fields a roster of seven clinicians and serves roughly 1,000 clients per month, having delivered more than 70,000 clinical sessions since inception. The practice emphasizes destigmatized, evidence-based care and uses technology to expand access. Current plans described in the article include expanding national access, furthering innovation in delivery, increasing enrollment of veterans in need of long-term care, and recruiting additional local clinicians. A portion of the recent funding is earmarked to drive demand and expand services within the greater Phoenix area.
