Healee
31 Alexander Malinov Boulevard, Sofia, 1729, Bulgaria
Overview
Healee is a health‑tech company offering highly configurable digital health technology that lets organizations quickly launch telehealth, digital check‑in and scheduling infrastructure. Its platform is positioned as a “deep white label” solution configurable to custom workflows and full branding, intended to replace multiple existing tools and better fit clinical processes. Current applications include traditional healthcare, insurance, pharma, wellness, behavioral health, chronic and palliative care, and COVID consultations. Healee gained U.S. market momentum with over a dozen customers in under a year. The company announced a $2M seed raise to fund U.S. expansion and further technology development. CEO and founder Hristo Kosev framed the product as enabling hybrid and virtual‑first care models and supporting distinct virtual care use cases. Healee provides a telehealth platform (mobile and desktop) that enables chats, voice and video calls, file transfer, in-app payments and advanced features such as MRI uploads, photo-to-structured lab results, voice recognition and an AI chatbot that suggests specialists. The company does not employ doctors but facilitates connections and in 2019 acquired appointment-booker SuperDoc, adding thousands of doctors and a 140K-patient database. Revenue models vary by market: in Bulgaria Healee takes a 10% fee on payments and works with hospitals (e.g., Acibadem City Clinic) and two insurance companies; in the UK and US it sells subscription plans via resellers and B2B partners (£28–£38 per medical specialist per month) and offers a nascent white-label model. Usage grew sharply during COVID-19, from about 500 doctors in February to 1,200 by the end of May and roughly 7.8K consultations by the end of May. The company plans to use new funding to accelerate growth and expand market share in Bulgaria, the UK and the US, push B2C initiatives and pursue partnerships with telecoms, mobile labs and home testing. Healee faces challenges from Bulgaria’s limited e-health infrastructure and the National Health Insurance Fund not covering digital consultations, but says it can integrate with a national e-health system within a month when one exists.
