Overview
Helicap is a Singaporean fintech private investment platform that focuses on the alternative lending market in Southeast Asia. Its core product and competitive advantage is an in-house credit analytics engine used to assess and manage lending opportunities. The company positions digital innovation and proprietary technology at the center of its service and solution offerings. Helicap has entered a strategic partnership tied to its Series B, which includes institutional investment and aims to deepen technology integration with partners. As part of the partnership, Helicap’s analytics could be embedded into partners’ lending and investment-banking workflows to improve loan-book transparency, portfolio and credit-risk monitoring, and generate granular microeconomic insights. The company seeks to expand into new markets and improve business operations through such digital collaborations. Helicap is a Singapore-based fintech active in the private debt and alternative lending space that emphasizes data-driven credit scoring. The company said it will use new funds to expand its business, enhance its proprietary credit scoring technology and explore further solutions in private debt. Helicap registered a fund management subsidiary, Helicap Investments, with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, enabling regulated fund management with up to 30 accredited and institutional investors and SGD 250 million (USD 176 million) of assets under management. It also obtained a capital markets services license through last year’s acquisition of lender Arcor Capital. Helicap has identified Indonesia as a key expansion market and recently appointed Ilham Akbar Habibie as a special advisor and investor to its board to support that effort. The company’s leadership says the new capital will bolster its balance sheet amid the current economic environment.
