hi.health is a Vienna-based insurtech that simplifies billing and reimbursement for private health insurance through a digital app. Users can submit invoices digitally and hi.health handles processing, billing, and customer service, plus provides a “library” showing covered digital health products and services. The app launched in 2019 and since then the company has facilitated more than €50 million in reimbursements and processed several hundred thousand submissions. Founded in 2018 by Fredrik Debong and Sebastian Gruber, hi.health has added integrations that allow payments in selected online shops and connected online pharmacies, opticians, telemedicine providers and prevention-course providers via its hi.direct system. With new funding, the company plans to expand headcount, further develop the product and grow its market presence and partner network across Europe. hi.health is also aiming to offer services to pharmaceutical companies and providers of doctor software in the future.
