Hilos

23 Cjon De San Antonio Abad, Mexico City, 06820, Mexico

Overview

Hilos develops modular footwear parts using 3D printers and thermoplastic polyurethane powder, with assemblies post-processed using AMT technology and supported by patented shoemaking techniques and digital tool chains. The company offers a “click-to-ship” on-demand manufacturing service to shoe brands so customers can order shoes made locally on Hilos printers. The model is intended to speed customer turnaround, reduce inventory needs, and cut carbon emissions tied to foreign manufacturing. Hilos already generates revenue, sells a branded line of clogs, heels, loafers and sandals priced $225–$375, and counts footwear brands like Helm Boots as customers. The startup is led by CEO and co-founder Elias Stahl and co-founder and chief creative officer Gaia Giladi and is based in Portland. The company said the funding will support scaling its local production and additive-manufacturing approach amid growing interest in localized supply chains and fashion sustainability.
