Human Native AI operates a marketplace that connects rights holders with AI companies seeking licensed data to train large language models. Rights holders can upload content for free, receive help preparing and pricing their content, and negotiate revenue-share or subscription deals. The platform monitors for copyright infringements, and Human Native AI takes a cut of each deal while charging AI companies for transaction and monitoring services. The company launched in April and is currently operating in beta, reporting that it has signed a handful of partnerships to be announced. Founder and CEO James Smith, who previously worked on Google’s DeepMind, says the startup aims to give creators control and compensation and to lower barriers for smaller AI builders to access licensed data. Human Native AI plans to use its new funding to build out its team and to collect deal data that could inform future pricing guidance for rights holders.
