Founded in 2019 by Elodie Abécassis, I MAKE operates an online marketplace that aggregates more than 50,000 items for DIY projects across categories like clothes, cosmetics, cleaning, cooking, gardening and decoration. The platform also hosts a community of around 50 content creators who provide tips, inspiration and user-shared creations on the site and social networks. I MAKE bundles supplies from many vendors so users do not need to visit multiple shops for a single project. The startup positions itself within the broader responsible-consumption and do-it-yourself trend, which it says was amplified during COVID-19 lockdowns. Using new funding, the company plans to accelerate technical development to offer more accessible, educational and higher-quality content, expand its product range, and hire additional team members in the coming months. The company recently raised €1.5 million to support these initiatives.
