Overview
Icix provides a cloud network and applications that enable retailers and manufacturers to access the extended supply chain and collaborate across trading partner networks for product safety, compliance and corporate social responsibility. The company is led by CEO David Marchand. More than 20,000 businesses are active members of the ICIX network, including many of the world’s largest retailers and manufacturers, their trading partners and more than 50 testing, inspection and certification companies. On November 1, 2017 the company secured $15.5M in financing from Arrowroot Capital. Icix intends to use the funds to further expand operations. iCix offers a hosted suite of products that connect retailers with inspection companies to automate food-safety and supply-chain risk management. The platform tracks supplier networks and integrates data from independent testing laboratories to automate documentation of product testing and regulatory assessments. Its newest product checks that each shipment has proper testing documentation so buyers can identify and reject noncompliant goods. iCix sells primarily to large general merchandisers, with customers that include Wal‑Mart and Wesfarmers. The company has operated for over a decade and grew out of food-industry needs identified after 9/11. Proceeds from the recent financing will be used to boost research and development and expand sales and marketing. iCiX operates a web-based network that helps retailers, manufacturers, distributors and suppliers exchange validated quality and compliance information across the supply chain. The platform is designed to manage recalls, corrective actions, validate certifications, products and test results, and positions itself as an affordable solution for those functions. More than 70,000 facilities use the iCiX system, including six of the top 10 retailers and 82 of the top 100 food companies. The company intends to use new capital to accelerate product development as well as sales and marketing efforts. The additional resources are aimed at expanding the product's reach and impact on the supply chain industry. iCiX is based in San Mateo, California.
