1752 NW Market St, #733, Seattle, WA, 98107, United States
Overview
Illumagear’s flagship product is the Halo Light, a cordless 360-degree illumination system designed to mount to ordinary hard hats and withstand site hazards such as falls and being run over. The company prices the Halo Light at $99 and says it has been used across construction, mining, transportation, power, facilities and oil industries. Illumagear says the device can reduce injuries and lower insurance costs, and the business is positioning the product as software-enabled hardware to provide operational insight. The company will use new funding to staff up, increase marketing and develop new products, with the CEO hinting at possible launches as early as this year. Early financial backers include Peter Küttel and Rodger May of MK Ventures and former Microsoft executive J Allard. The firm frames its roadmap around combining personal illumination with data to improve worker safety and productivity. Illumagear develops products designed to illuminate workers on construction sites so they are more visible from all angles. The company is led by Max Baker. Illumagear says it holds a provisional patent on lighting individuals in a 360-degree manner. The startup won the top prize at the Seattle Angel Conference. As the top winner, Illumagear received a $100,000 cash award from a group of Northwest angels. The award came as part of an event intended to increase early-stage capital in the Seattle region.
