Imagga is a Sofia, Bulgaria-based cloud platform that helps businesses and individuals organize their images. It offers image-understanding technologies via APIs, including auto-cropping, color and multi-color search, color extraction, auto-categorization, visual similarity and image auto-tagging. The APIs allow owners of large image collections to automate the process of analyzing, organizing and searching their images on a SaaS basis. Imagga raised $350K in funding, with LAUNCHub contributing $260K and other private investors providing $90K. A small portion of the funding was used to buy out the shares of OpenFund, a previous micro-seed investor. The company intends to use the funds to further develop its image technologies, accelerate research efforts and increase its customer base. Imagga also announced distribution partnerships with Blitline and Mahsape and is hiring.
