Imperative Health is a spin-out from Unilever Corporate Research that provides a bundled health-management service including a wireless activity monitor, a heart-rate monitor, a scale, an online coaching system, and telephone and e-mail access to health experts. The company was created by Unilever Ventures in 2008 and was initially focused on personalised weight management. It has since renamed from MiLife to Imperative Health to reflect a strategic shift toward managing diabetes, high blood pressure, obesity, and raised cholesterol. A new executive team was appointed to create and implement this new strategy. Its solution has been validated through clinical trials for user engagement and effectiveness. The company completed additional funding to accelerate its development and growth.
