235 2nd St, San Francisco, CA, 94105, United States
Overview
Infisical is an open-source platform for secrets, identity, and access management that handles API keys, database credentials, certificates, SSH keys and other sensitive data across development workflows and infrastructure. The product has been adopted by developers at high-growth startups such as Hugging Face and large enterprises including LG. In the past year Infisical launched comprehensive PKI, KMS, and SSH access management solutions and reached over 40 million downloads globally. The company reports over 100,000 developers using its software and secures more than 10 billion secrets per month. Financially, Infisical grew revenue over 20x and became cash flow positive. Future plans include extending the platform across secrets, identity, and access management, deepening cloud and infrastructure integrations, building security infrastructure for AI agents and workloads, and expanding engineering and go-to-market teams. Infisical builds a secret-management platform to centralize and manage authentication credentials, API keys, passwords and tokens across projects and environments. Its product includes a dashboard, client SDKs, a CLI, native integrations with GitHub, Netlify and Vercel, secret versioning and point-in-time recovery, audit logs, and secret scanning. Infisical offers both a hosted cloud SaaS and a self-hosted edition, monetizing through enterprise-grade features and licenses for larger companies. The company positions itself as open-source/open-core: much of the core functionality is MIT-licensed on GitHub while advanced features such as audit logs, SSO, recovery and access controls reside in a proprietary enterprise edition. Founded by three Cornell alumni who previously worked at AWS, Figma and Bung, the team formed in San Francisco last August and has made its first engineering hire from Red Hat. Infisical raised $2.8 million in a seed round led by Gradient Ventures and earlier secured $500,000 via Y Combinator's winter '23 program.
