Inky offers a cloud-based anti-phishing platform that hooks into existing email systems (Exchange, Office 365 and G‑Suite) to surface whether incoming messages are safe, unusual or malicious. The product uses machine learning and other technologies to detect spam, phish attempts and exploits such as cross-site scripting. Inky says it blocks hundreds of thousands of suspicious or malicious emails a month for the average customer. The company began as a desktop email app about a decade ago and pivoted in 2018 to focus on cloud anti-phishing technology. Management plans to use new funding to push for greater enterprise adoption and to expand internationally into Europe, Asia and Latin America. After the latest round, Inky has raised $31.6 million in total. Inky Technology offers Inky Phish Fence, an AI-driven anti-phishing platform that uses computer vision and anomaly detection algorithms to identify and block brand forgery and spear phishing. The product adds warning banners to unusual or suspicious emails and inserts a “Report This Email” link so users can flag phishing attempts. Inky Phish Fence works on any endpoint and with any mail client without additional client software, integrating directly with Microsoft Office 365 and supporting Google G Suite. The platform provides IT and security teams with a reporting and measurement dashboard to assess blocked threats and reported phishing emails. Led by CEO Dave Baggett, the company plans to use the new funding to enhance analytics capabilities and expand sales and marketing. The company recently completed a $5.6M Series A to support those efforts.
