Founded in 2015 by Rajesh Sawhney, Sanjeev Singhal and Bal Dighent, InnerChef runs a full-stack cloud-kitchen platform that houses brands such as Healthie, Bombay Sandwich Company, Thalis of India, YumYumDilli and YumYumSouth. The company currently serves customers in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai through its digital ordering channels. Management has outlined plans to expand into ten additional cities, including Pune, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai and Jaipur. In FY19, operating revenue nearly doubled year over year to Rs 30.66 crore, while net losses rose to Rs 24.45 crore as total expenses reached Rs 66 crore. Employee benefit costs stood at Rs 24.57 crore, with 72 % (Rs 17.66 crore) attributed to ESOP expenses. Other income, comprising sponsorship fees and interest on deposits, added Rs 0.76 crore. Despite widening losses, the strong top-line growth and diversified brand portfolio position InnerChef to capitalize on India’s expanding online food delivery market.
