Innobell
134 Rothschild Blvd, Tel Aviv, 6527210
Overview
Innobell offers an Android texting app that integrates add-on apps into IM and calling, letting users share maps, YouTube videos, games, PayPal payments, Facebook photos and links within group chats. The app allows users to add exact-location maps to chats, post YouTube videos from within conversations, and use add-ons during calls. Founder Shai Magzimof attended Y Combinator's 2010 program but paused it to serve in the Israeli army, negotiating extended leave to develop Innobell. The company has raised $100,000 in funding and has not yet settled on a clear monetization model. Innobell plans to monetize via affiliate fees from virtual goods, mobile commerce or group buying, and is exploring features such as Groupon posting, multiplayer games (e.g., poker), calendar scheduling and shared to-do lists. It is also exploring versions for iPhone and BlackBerry; IM and add-on capabilities work on all Android phones, while the combined IM/calling/add-ons functionality is limited on CDMA devices and functional on LTE phones.
