InnoUp Farma S.L., founded in 2013 and based in Noain (Navarra), has developed a nanoparticle-based biocompatible encapsulation platform to enable safer oral administration with improved biodistribution and efficacy. The platform is being applied to oral immunotherapy for food allergies—notably a peanut allergy vaccine—and to a new oral formulation of the chemotherapeutic paclitaxel for certain cancers. Their encapsulation approach allows higher administered doses while reducing toxicity and improving therapeutic effect. With the recent financing, the company plans to complete a phase I/II clinical trial of its oral peanut allergy vaccine in allergic patients. Successful clinical results would bring the technology closer to a potential licensing agreement with pharmaceutical companies. Financially, the company secured an approximately €1 million equity round that includes a committed €299,700 investment from CDTI's Innvierte program.
