Innovacell is a Bregenz, Austria-based biotechnology company developing a cell-therapy called ICES13. ICES13 is being developed for the treatment of stress-urinary incontinence and faecal incontinence. The company has raised €8.3m (approximately $11m), provided in two tranches, to fund the clinical development of ICES13. Management plans to use the proceeds to complete a Phase III study. CEO Dr. Ekkehart Steinhuber expected first Phase III results in the fourth quarter of 2012 and central EU authorisation from the European Medicines Agency in 2013. Innovacell employs 20 staff and engages numerous outside experts.
