Overview

Inscribe offers an AI-powered document fraud detection service that parses, classifies, and data-matches financial onboarding documents to flag discrepancies. The platform digitizes names, addresses, bank statement transactions and other document details to generate individual customer risk profiles and snapshots of bank statements. In September the company added a credit analysis and bank statement automation component that extracts cash-flow details, transaction parsing, and pay stub parsing to support lending decisions. Inscribe trains models on hundreds of millions of data points and says its AI-first approach leverages original datasets collected through customer partnerships. Customers include TripActions, Ramp, Bluevine and Shift, and the company employs about 50 people with plans to roughly double headcount over the next 12–18 months. Financially, Inscribe has raised $38 million to date, including a $10.5 million Series A in April 2021 and a recent $25 million Series B. Inscribe delivers document-fraud detection via an API and web platform that combines document forensics, a global data network, and automated verification. Its forensics examine file structure, pixels and metadata while the data network identifies patterns from a repository of fraudulent documents; verification extracts and matches fields such as name, address, dates and income to institutional records. The company is used by fintech lenders, banks and payment processors including BlueVine, Credito Real and Amount, along with numerous Fortune 500s. Inscribe detects more than $40 million in fraudulent documents per month and has experienced 12x year-over-year growth. To date it has raised nearly $14 million and plans to use new financing to fund product development and go-to-market activities. Core hiring plans include expanding its U.S. go-to-market team and growing its product and engineering team in Dublin. Inscribe automates the process of identifying fraudulent documents using a combination of image forensics and machine learning, delivered via an API and a web platform. The solution checks fonts, colors, and shapes using forensics methods to find signs of photo- or PDF-editing, cross-checks names, transaction amounts, and addresses between documents, and queries public and private databases for blacklisted names, addresses, phone numbers, and transaction amounts. The platform is being piloted with multiple lending companies and a range of small businesses, from property management firms to cryptocurrency exchanges. The company is led by co-founder and CEO Ronan Burke and is based in San Francisco and Dublin. Inscribe secured $3M in seed financing to support its growth. The company intends to use the funds to accelerate customer growth and expand its engineering team in Dublin.
