Overview
inSignals Neurotech is a spin‑out from INESC TEC, with support from São João University Hospital and the University of Porto, developing wireless wearable devices to precisely measure wrist rigidity during deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery. Its first product targets Parkinson’s disease and has completed three clinical studies involving 59 patients. The company says its device is easy to set up, provides real‑time measurements, and can help neurologists and neurosurgeons assess rigidity more objectively to improve implant placement. inSignals plans to expand preliminary clinical trials and is entering collaboration agreements to run multi‑centre studies in Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany and Spain. The funding will be used to accelerate validation, strengthen intellectual property and grow the team, while the company has already attracted interest from potential industry partners. Frontier IP holds a 33% equity stake in inSignals, underscoring existing institutional ownership in the company.
