Overview
Insta360 is a Shenzhen-based camera maker founded in 2014 that pioneered compact, easy-to-use 360-degree cameras and has expanded into action cameras and smartphone accessories. Its product lines include 360-degree cameras for VR professionals and amateurs, action cameras (notably the One X) and add-on lenses that turn iPhones into 360-degree cameras. The One X shoots 5.7K at 30 fps, offers strong stabilization, and ships with software that stitches and auto-selects footage for easy sharing to social apps. The company says it will use the fresh proceeds for research and development, marketing and after-sales services in key international markets including the United States and Japan. Insta360 reports five-times revenue growth in two years and has been profitable since 2017. Management is planning to file for an initial public offering in China next year.
