Overview
Intelage is a Seattle, WA-based cloud-based global trade management (GTM) and logistics platform. Led by founder John Han, the platform brings together trade suppliers, buyers, and partners to create, track, and manage trades from within a single application, consolidating product information, offer negotiation, documents, contract details, and communications. It enables customers to automate manual processes, obtain visibility into business-critical decisions, eliminate exceptions, and simplify overall trading experiences. Its solutions cover sourcing, logistics, tracking, documentation, communication, trade, and regulatory compliance activities. The company says its customer network currently operates in the U.S., China, Egypt, Indonesia, Korea, and Vietnam. Intelage recently appointed Dave Fry as head of engineering to lead technological vision and strategy. The $3.5M seed round will be used to develop the technology further and build out the sales team and senior management. Intelage is a Seattle-area, year-old startup that develops software to speed up and automate parts of commodity trading businesses. Founded by John Han, who ran his own commodities trade and marketing firm for 15 years, the company focuses on tools for risk control, documentation, inventory management, and cost optimization. Its two main products are MarketPlace, a platform connecting agricultural suppliers and buyers, and TradeDesk, which offers real-time tracking, document automation, and in-app communication for trades and shipments. Customers include companies trading grains, soybeans, lumber and other commodities. Intelage currently operates with a five-person team and plans to grow the team while continuing to build out its software. The company frames its opportunity against a roughly $17 trillion global commodities market and says its tools help customers navigate uncertainty such as trade wars.
