Intelligent Generation (IG) is a Chicago-based energy storage optimization platform founded in 2009 whose core product is the patented POWR:Suite for capturing energy bill savings and power market revenues. The company has delivered and monetized behind-the-meter energy storage systems for commercial and industrial customers and presently has projects in both the PJM and MISO regional transmission organizations. IG says its POWR:Suite implements the energy storage value stack, a concept it patented in 2010. The platform is positioned to enable microgrids and to generate revenue from grid services while improving resiliency and reducing energy costs. IG plans to use new capital to expand sales and technology capabilities and increase its market share in the growing energy storage optimization services market. The company is partnering with G&W Electric to pursue joint go-to-market activities for intelligent microgrids.
