Overview
Intellihot develops tankless, on-demand water heating systems for commercial buildings and an AI monitoring product called Tellibot AI to predict equipment life and enable scheduled maintenance. Its heaters have a much smaller physical footprint than traditional tanks (the article notes tanks can be about 80% larger). The company targets hotels, restaurants, stadiums, hospitals, multi-family residential and senior living, and reports installations in thousands of buildings. Intellihot says its equipment has logged more than 670 million hours of operation without failures. Founded in 2009, the startup positions itself as the first new entrant in the space in almost 100 years and as an alternative to long-established incumbents. It plans to expand internationally and to shake up the $81 billion global HVAC market. Intellihot makes drop-in commercial tankless water heaters, including the Neuron series (iN401 and iN501) that deliver up to 399,999 and 499,999 BTU/hr. The Neuron models feature built-in cellular LTE for remote monitoring and independently controlled twin engines for redundancy and higher power. Units are compact—8 inches slimmer than typical tanks—fit existing water and gas connections, and cut installation time in half. The product targets hotels, restaurants, and schools and is already used by customers such as Costco, Hilton Hotels, Levi's Stadium and 340 on the Park. The company says its systems eliminate storage-tank waste, cut greenhouse emissions by over 40% and reduce Legionella risk. Intellihot is based in Galesburg, Illinois and was founded by CXO Sivaprasad Akasam and CEO Sridhar Deivasigamani.
