InterCellar
7 rue Pablo Neruda, Levallois-Perret, Ile-de-France, 92300, France
Overview
Founded in June 2023 by Maxime Garraud and Louis de Bonnecaze, InterCellar runs a marketplace that sells physical wines and spirits alongside a three-dimensional digital twin and an NFT that represents ownership. Buyers receive a digital token that lets them sell, gift, or exchange the bottle without holding it physically while InterCellar’s partner Ziegler can store the wine under ideal conditions and deliver it worldwide on demand. The platform aims to improve traceability and limit counterfeits, addressing a market problem where roughly 30% of grand crus are estimated to be fake. InterCellar also positions itself to provide liquidity to the wine market by enabling secondary transfers via the digital twin. The company plans to onboard about one hundred domaines on its marketplace by the end of 2024 and says it favors quality over quantity. Its initial fundraising of €1M supports marketing, customer acquisition, and technology development, with hiring to follow based on growth.
