Intra-Cellular Therapies

430 E 29th St #900, New York, 10016, United States

Overview

Intra Cellular Therapies is developing ITI-007, a therapeutic intended to reduce symptoms of schizophrenia. The company says ITI-007 combines 5-HT2A receptor interaction with dopamine receptor phosphoprotein modulation and serotonin reuptake inhibition. It aims to allow dose selection that saturates 5-HT2A receptors while providing optimal dopamine receptor modulation to reduce psychotic symptoms without high levels of dopamine antagonism that cause motor disturbances and other side effects such as obesity and cognitive impairment. ITI-007 is in clinical development: the company is scheduled to complete a Phase II study this spring and is recruiting for a Phase II proof-of-efficacy trial comparing ITI-007 with placebo and risperidone. In addition to schizophrenia, the therapeutic is being developed for bipolar disorder, treatment-resistant depression, major depressive disorder, PTSD, behavioral disturbances in Alzheimer’s disease, and autism. The New York City–based company recently raised $18.3 million in a new financing to advance ITI-007 through clinical trials.
