Overview
Intro operates a marketplace app (iOS and web) that connects consumers with curated experts across style, wellness, business, home, beauty and astrology via paid one-on-one video “micro consultations.” Experts manage scheduling, pricing, availability and video sessions through a self-service tool, and sessions range from 15 minutes to two hours with prices from about $30–$200 for short sessions (and much higher for high-caliber designers). Intro takes a commission on bookings (30% for calls the company brings in; 10% when the expert initiates a booking). The company has curated high-profile experts and advisors including Rachel Zoe, Nate Berkus and McKel Kooienga, and has been operating in beta while facilitating roughly 500 sessions in its first two months. Intro has about 75 experts on the marketplace and plans to hire more staff and recruit additional experts in categories like career, business, parenting and everyday advice (e.g., buying a first home). The team says it views telemedicine as a conceptual competitor and aims to expand access by helping experts monetize their followers and diversify revenue streams.
