Jaranda operates an after-school edutech platform targeting dual-income households since October 2017. The company matches children aged 4 to 13 with about 16,000 after-school instructors, known as "Jaranda Planners," as of end-May. Jaranda uses data analysis to maintain the quality of its instructors. Some 77 percent of its customers have used the service for at least three straight months. Founded in June 2016 in South Korea, the company previously raised 900 million won in August 2018 and received seed funding from accelerator Sopoong in March 2017. Most recently it raised 3.1 billion won in a Series A funding round.
