Overview

Kaipham develops next-generation drug discovery technologies using proprietary bioinformatics, big-data mining, and virtual screening driven by AI. Founded in 2018 by Professor Kim Wankyu’s research team, the company focuses on generating high-quality biological and transcriptomic reference data to accelerate target identification, drug repurposing, and toxicity/activity prediction. Its flagship KMAP project aims to build an NGS-based drug-induced transcriptome standard database (KMAP_2K) covering roughly 2,000 compounds including all FDA-approved drugs. Kaipham has a collaborative research agreement with the Korea Pasteur Institute in Pangyo to support the KMAP effort. The company plans to offer joint drug development and analysis services to domestic and international research institutes, universities, and pharmaceutical firms. Financially, Kaipham recently closed a Series A and has secured cumulative funding that includes TIPS and seed investments.
