Specx develops hyperspectral imaging technology that analyzes wavelength data from light and has built an end-to-end platform covering satellite observation data acquisition, processing, and analysis. The startup aims to commercialize this hyperspectral capability for space applications and has pursued both public R&D and private investment to do so. It was discovered through Jeju Center for Creative Economy & Innovation’s 2024 Pre-Startup Package and became the inaugural investment of the center’s jointly managed Jeju Early-Stage Startup Fund. Specx was selected for the Deep Tech TIPS program, receiving KRW 1.5 billion in R&D funding. On June 19, Specx closed a KRW 3 billion follow-on pre-Series A round led by Triangle Partners with participation from E&Venture Partners and JX Partners. The combined public and private funding is intended to advance commercialization and further development of its hyperspectral imaging offerings.

Autonomous A2Z develops autonomous vehicle technologies with a hybrid engineering approach that combines rule-based algorithms and AI-driven decision systems aimed at achieving Level 4 autonomy. The company operates a research center in Pyeongchon, Gyeonggi, and runs autonomous mobility projects in markets including Singapore (in partnership with Grab), the United Arab Emirates, and Japan, where it has begun robotaxi trials. It has accumulated total funding of 122.5 billion won following the recent 40.5 billion won pre-IPO round and is preparing for a Kosdaq listing. Planned uses of capital include expanding domestic and international projects and procuring sensors, controllers, and vehicle components. Autonomous A2Z is preparing to participate in a large-scale pilot program led by the South Korea Ministry of Transport. The company says it aims to accelerate commercial deployment of Level 4 driverless vehicles and to build a global data network to support that goal.

POEN develops technology to select and remanufacture reusable cells from used electric-vehicle batteries and assembles remanufactured battery modules and packs. Meju develops HiCardi, a remote patient real-time monitoring platform used for continuous vital-sign tracking. The company has commercial partnerships including a domestic distribution agreement with 동아ST and a memorandum with HL만도 to develop Digital Healthcare Automotive solutions. Meju is expanding HiCardi beyond healthcare into industrial safety monitoring for construction and factory workers and is in final negotiations with a Korean public enterprise for product supply. Financially, Meju reported approximately ₩1.4bn in revenue in 2022, is targeting ₩4.0bn in 2023, and aims for ₩10.0bn in revenue by 2025 to reach breakeven.
