Overview
Kandji provides a modern platform for managing Apple devices and has expanded into endpoint security with an endpoint detection and response product launched last year. The company reports rapid growth: ARR is up 600% since its 2021 round and its customer base has grown 4x to about 4,000 global customers. Over 30% of both its customers and revenue come from outside North America, and the company says international expansion is accelerating. Kandji plans to add generative AI capabilities in the coming months to augment its product. It competes with legacy MDM vendors and Apple itself and reports high win rates in rip-and-replace deals versus incumbents. Kandji builds a platform to manage Apple devices for medium-to-large businesses, focusing on device management, security, and operational tooling. The company has seen rapid commercial traction: revenue grew more than 700% in the last year and over 1,000 companies use the platform. International expansion is underway, with a newly opened London office contributing substantially to revenue and roughly 25% of top-line revenue coming from outside the U.S. Kandji has scaled headcount quickly, growing from 40 employees at the start of the year to more than 250 and planning to reach about 400 next year. The company operates as a remote-first business while maintaining offices in San Diego and London. Leadership emphasizes continued investment in sales, post-sales teams, and diverse hiring to support larger enterprise customers. Kandji provides an automated platform for onboarding, updating and managing Apple devices remotely, aimed at helping IT support distributed workforces. Demand accelerated during the pandemic as companies shifted to work-from-home, driving faster-than-expected customer growth. The company now serves customers across 40+ industries and has attracted international buyers. Kandji has grown its headcount from about 40 to 100 employees since October and emphasizes remote hiring to build a more diverse candidate pool. Revenue has tripled since its Series A announcement, though the company did not disclose exact revenue figures. CEO Adam Pettit is focused on how the company will operate offices post-pandemic while keeping remote employees engaged. Kandji builds a zero-touch device management solution to help companies manage fleets of Apple devices and keep them in compliance with specific rules. The product includes nearly 200 one-click policy frameworks called parameters and pre-built templates to simplify compliance. Since launching last October the company has expanded from basic MDM into compliance and continues to add new product features. Kandji reports it has gained hundreds of paying customers and grown headcount from 10 employees at launch to 40 today. CEO and co-founder Adam Pettit says the new funding will be used to expand the employee base and product, with plans to triple headcount in the next 12 months. The company emphasizes hiring a diverse candidate pool as it scales. Kandji offers an Apple MDM product that extends beyond Apple’s base MDM and other solutions by packaging a proprietary stack of management tools the founders developed at their prior consultancy. The product, which is publicly available starting today, includes nearly 200 one-click policy frameworks called parameters that automate compliance deployments. It supports management of laptops, watches, phones, tablets and Apple TV devices. The founders all worked at Apple and ran an Apple IT consultancy for more than a decade before selling it two years ago and building Kandji. The team bootstrapped development for a year, currently has 16 employees, and a set of initial customers testing the product. Kandji says the tools provide functionality that previously would have required six-figure implementations at their former firm.
