Kickoff is a free dating app available on iOS and Android that connects friends of friends looking for meaningful relationships. It was launched in São Paulo in December 2014 by Clayton Spencer, Jonathan Kieliszak and Alanna Phelan. The app is live in Brazil’s eight largest metro regions — São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte, Porto Alegre, Florianópolis, Curitiba, Brasília and Goiânia — and in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Kickoff raised $1.6M in funding from Monashees Capital and angel investors. The company intends to use the funds to grow the team, expand to new cities and develop new features. As part of the investment, Carlo Dapuzzo, a partner at Monashees, will join Kickoff’s board.
