Kitch
Avenida De Berna 45a, Lisboa, 1067-001, Portugal
Overview
Kitch provides a single tablet and platform that aggregates delivery apps, letting restaurants manage all delivery orders, track couriers and update menus across channels. Restaurants can create an online store through Kitch to sell dishes for delivery and takeaway while owning customer relationships. The company developed proprietary technology to support independent restaurants and handles payments, deliveries and customer support. Kitch interfaces with apps such as Uber Eats, Glovo and Deliveroo. CEO Rui Bento said the company is committed to developing tools that enable restaurants to retain independence and regain control of their digital businesses. The article notes Kitch has shown rapid traction since launch in March 2020 and recently closed external funding. Kitch operates delivery-first kitchens designed to host a selection of favourite restaurants and creative chefs with the goal of improving food delivered to homes. The company positions itself as a kitchen infrastructure provider rather than a delivery app or a traditional restaurant, designing operations from scratch for delivery. Kitch emphasises sustainability measures such as reducing non-reusable plastic packaging, implementing technology to reduce food waste, and improving energy efficiency. The founders, Rui Bento and Nuno Rodrigues, are former Uber executives who launched Uber in Portugal. Kitch plans to develop and scale operations from Lisbon, connecting the city to restaurants through meals made specifically for delivery. The recent financing will fund the initial scaling and operational development in the Lisbon market.
