Overview
Klipfolio is an Ottawa-based provider of cloud-based business dashboards. The company originally launched in 2001 as a bootstrapped provider of desktop dashboard widgets and has re-launched as a cloud solutions vendor. Its platform lets business users build and share real-time dashboards and visualizations. Led by Allan Wille, President and CEO, Klipfolio serves more than 7,000 customers across marketing agencies, financial services, healthcare, consumer goods and not-for-profits. The company has raised CDN$12M in this Series B and $19.4M in total funding. It intends to use the funds to further invest in the product, deliver new mobile experiences, and add hundreds of pre-built visualizations and dashboards. Klipfolio provides real-time cloud dashboards that enable business users to build and monitor their own metrics without IT, offering excel-level skills in a self-serve interface. The platform supports hundreds of data sources, dozens of visualizations, and the ability to calculate and create data mashups. Launched in 2012 and led by CEO Allan Wille, Klipfolio serves over 2,000 customers across marketing agencies, financial services, healthcare, consumer goods and not-for-profits. The company raised $6.2M in Series A funding and intends to use the proceeds to accelerate growth and invest in product enhancements. The round follows a prior CDN$1.7M funding event in February 2014. In conjunction with the Series A, an OMERS Ventures director will join Klipfolio's board. Klipfolio provides a cloud-based Web and mobile dashboard platform that unites cloud and on-premise data sources to build real-time business dashboards. The company launched its cloud-based dashboard solution in 2011 and by 2013 served more than 1,100 customers across sectors including healthcare, financial services, consumer packaged goods, government, non-profit and marketing. Klipfolio reports dramatic year-over-year organic revenue growth and a growing customer list that includes Fortune 500 companies and customers such as Edmunds.com. Its solution emphasizes user self-service, mobile access and cost-effective data visualization compared with traditional BI tools. The company plans to use new funding to expand its operational team and global reach.
