Koofers is a social learning platform that provides free access to course materials, class and professor ratings, and study aids to help students learn from one another. The service aggregates data from more than 400 universities and uses social networks such as Facebook to attract users. More than 310,000 college students have signed up so far. The company plans to use the new capital for product development, marketing, and acquiring more content. Koofers was founded in 2008, is headquartered in Reston, VA, and is led by CEO Gio Hunt.
