Koos offers a standardized API that allows companies to issue 'equity-like' stakes in their success without using shares, options, or blockchain tokens. Companies define business goals, record meaningful actions via Koos tokens (not blockchain-based), and the platform pays out to stakeholders only when predefined goals are met. The startup monetizes through an onboarding fee, a monthly retainer, and a 1% take of all rewards (tokens) created by programmes on the Koos platform. Koos says it now has 27 companies running its platform, including start-ups, NGOs, SMEs and larger corporations. Founded earlier this year by serial entrepreneur and former CIO of the Estonian Civil Service Taavi Kotka, Koos plans to build out its platform across the U.K. and Europe with a legal framework that complies with EU and U.K. law. The company positions its product as more ROI-positive than loyalty programs by rewarding contributors whose tracked actions can be tied to company outcomes.
