KREAM
Carrer Riera De Sant Miquel, 1 Bis, Barcelona, Catalonia, 08006, Spain
Overview
Kream is a reselling platform that lets users buy, sell and trade luxury goods such as handbags, clothing and accessories. The company reported monthly active users rose to 5.3 million from 2.2 million since last October, and its gross merchandise value grew 270% in Q3 and 190% in Q4 year-over-year. Kream operates an inspection center and is implementing an authentication program to reduce counterfeit goods; items are inspected before sale and completed transactions do not allow refunds, though buyers can resell. The company employs around 100 people and has made minority investments in Asian peers including Japan’s Soda, Thailand’s Sasom and Malaysia’s Shake Hands to strategically connect resale platforms across Asia. It plans to use new capital to make more investments mainly in Asia, add more luxury items and emerging brands to the platform, and expand staff. Kream was spun off from Snow, a camera app branch of Naver, in January 2021 and has now raised over $266 million to date.
