Kurome Therapeutics
3536 Edwards Road Upper Suite 100, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45208, United States
Overview
Kurome Therapeutics is a preclinical-stage company developing novel therapies that target adaptive resistance mechanisms in cancer while inhibiting disease-modifying genes. Its lead programs are combined IRAK1/4 and panFLT3 inhibitors designed to target cancer cells that have co-opted IRAK1/4-mediated immune signaling. The company says the Series A financing will support preclinical advancement to substantially de-risk compound selection and to identify a first development candidate ahead of an IND filing. Initial clinical focus is improving outcomes in poor-prognosis acute myeloid leukemia (AML), with planned expansion to other hematopoietic cancers including myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and certain solid tumors with dysregulated IRAK1/4 signaling. Kurome was launched in 2020 based on research at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in collaboration with the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences. Jan Rosenbaum serves as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer, and the scientific foundation for the biology under study was discovered by Daniel Starczynowski, PhD.
