  • Ravee Optics

    Participated · Seed · Jul 2026

Ravee Optics designs laser communications terminals that use meta-optics on silicon wafers to manipulate light, enabling much smaller and lighter hardware than traditional lens-based systems. The company says its compact terminal will deliver comparable performance to current independently manufactured terminals while reducing mass and volume to about two kilograms and two liters versus roughly 20 kilograms and 25 liters for competitors like the Mynaric Condor. Ravee has validated its core technology in the lab and will focus the next two years on ground demos and qualification testing, targeting an in-orbit demonstration in early 2028. The firm intends to scale manufacturing by tapping existing silicon wafer foundry infrastructure rather than building bespoke optics fabs. Ravee positions its product for broad uptake by smallsat operators, defense constellations, and in-orbit data center businesses that require high-throughput laser communications. Financially, the company recently raised $6M in a seed round to advance development and manufacturing preparations.

  • Invirsa

    Led · Series B · Jun 2023

Invirsa is developing INV-102, a topical eye drop derived from a naturally occurring small molecule that modulates DNA damage repair pathways including p53 and Pax6. INV-102 has completed initial testing in dry eye patients (Phases 1 and 2a) and has shown reduced cellular injury/death in vitro and superior efficacy in several animal models. The company plans a Phase 2 clinical program including studies in acute infectious keratoconjunctivitis (Q3 2023), a Phase 2 pilot in Fuchs Endothelial Corneal Dystrophy (Q4 2023), and an additional dry eye study (Q1 2024), with funds earmarked for Phase 3 preparation. Invirsa’s projects have received federal support, including funding from BARDA and other Department of Health and Human Services programs. The management team includes experienced drug developers and ophthalmology advisors focused on reducing signs and symptoms of dry eye and other ocular surface conditions. Invirsa is an Ohio pharmaceutical company focused on enhancing the body’s natural defenses to protect against and treat infectious diseases. Its lead candidate, INV-102, is derived from a naturally occurring small molecule and works by strengthening the innate immune response and stimulating repair of damaged DNA. That mechanism represents a novel approach that differs from traditional antibiotic and antiviral therapies. Invirsa is initially developing INV-102 as a primary treatment for acute keratoconjunctivitis (viral "pinkeye") and upper respiratory tract infections, both of which affect millions of Americans annually. INV-102 has demonstrated efficacy in animal models of acute adenoviral keratoconjunctivitis via topical application (eyedrops), and the company plans to advance the program into clinical development. The company recently closed $520,000 in seed financing to fund the next stages of development.

  • Voxel

    Led · Seed · May 2023

Voxel develops a multi-physics, artificial intelligence-driven software platform that automates the design of components for additive manufacturing (AM). By fusing advanced mathematics with AI, the tool produces functionally graded meta-materials and optimized geometries that would normally take many manual engineering iterations. The platform promises significant performance improvements, faster time-to-market and lower engineering costs while guaranteeing manufacturability. Target markets span defense, automotive, aerospace, medical, and other high-performance sectors that rely on AM. The company is relocating its headquarters to Cincinnati to leverage the region’s deep AM expertise and industrial base. Co-founders Aaron Chow (CEO) and Zach Beller (CTO) bring a combined 18+ years of AM and multi-physics modeling experience, including work with GE Aviation, NASA, and Sandia National Laboratories. Voxel has raised $1.7 million in seed capital to accelerate product commercialization and team expansion.

  • Amify

    Led · Series B · May 2023

Amify is a Cincinnati-based provider of technology-enabled Amazon marketplace optimization and advertising solutions. Led by CEO Chris Mehrabi, COO Christine McCambridge, and Executive Chairman Ethan McAfee, the company offers a proprietary marketplace optimization platform that uses data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to generate insights. The platform provides automated optimization and advertising solutions tailored to brand needs and supports a customized end-to-end Amazon strategy. Amify has partnered with brands to help them adapt to the changing e-commerce landscape on Amazon. The company closed a $10 million Series B funding round. The new capital will be used to expand operations and broaden its business reach. Amify is a nine-year-old, Alexandria, Va.–based, 60-person company that provides end-to-end services for third-party sellers on Amazon. Its offerings include optimization of product pages, management of sponsored ad campaigns, inventory coordination and handling of returns. Amify uses warehouses in Las Vegas and Cincinnati and forwards goods to Amazon fulfillment centers so returns are routed back to Amify; the company says most returns are donated or destroyed. Clients pay Amify a percentage of their revenue in exchange for these services. Its customer roster ranges from smaller brands to household names like Fender and Brooks. Amify competes with other providers such as Netrush and etailz, and says it may eventually add granular customer data and insights. The company plans to use new funding to grow the team, including hiring a CTO.
