Lawgeex
19 Yosef Karo St, Tel Aviv, 6701423, Israel
Overview
LawGeex automates first-pass contract reviews by having users upload contracts that its AI checks against predefined company legal policies, automatically approving safe contracts or escalating problematic ones to legal teams. The system highlights exact sentences that need correction and suggests what to change, aiming to cut review time from hours to minutes. Its AI uses a recursive neural network trained on hundreds of thousands of contracts annotated by experienced U.S. lawyers, enabling understanding of legal concepts rather than simple keyword matching. LawGeex says academic-led research showed its system can be more accurate than humans in certain cases, such as standard NDAs. The company recently opened a New York office and plans to use new funding to further develop the product and expand its U.S. presence. Financially, the startup has raised $12M in this latest round, bringing total funding to $21.5M to date. LawGeex provides an AI-powered platform that reviews incoming contracts, approves those that match predefined criteria, and escalates others to the legal team. Legal teams can define criteria based on best practices or create custom “playbooks” that specify exactly what the platform should accept or reject. The platform supports a wide range of standard business contracts, from NDAs to purchase orders and software licenses. Founded in 2014 by international lawyer Noory Bechor and AI expert Ilan Admon, the company combines legal and technical expertise. LawGeex plans to use its recent funding to further advance its AI capabilities, enhance its SaaS offering, and continue building its team of engineers, data scientists and legal experts. The company has raised $9.5M in total funding to date.
