Layerise

VESTERBROGADE 149, Copenhagen, Hovedstaden, 1620, Denmark

Overview

Layerise builds a digital assistant for physical products that guides consumers with visual, interactive product guidance while giving manufacturers detailed information about end-user needs. The product is used across categories including electric bicycles, clothing, stoves, kitchen utensils, blinds and parasols. Layerise says it already has clients in North America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The company ran a global survey of more than 1,200 respondents showing many consumers prefer digital manuals, which informed its go-to-market. At the start of 2021 the company had five employees (two founders and three staff); it has grown to 12 and planned to reach 24 before the end of 2021. Management intends to use the new funding to accelerate sales and product development and to grow the organisation. Layerise, founded in 2019 and based in Copenhagen, offers a white-label digital assistant platform that connects end users with manufacturers of physical products (e.g., e-bikes, e-motorcycles, clothing, IoT and medical devices). The platform functions as an interactive manual, a channel for customer service and a tool for maintenance reminders and ownership confirmation. The startup has landed several brand clients and reports thousands of users on the solution, including several thousand registrations from customer Mate.bike; the app has helped at least 25 stolen bikes get returned to their owners. Until the raise the two founders ran Layerise part-time alongside full-time jobs and built the product without outside funding. With the new capital the founders plan to dedicate themselves full-time and use the funds to staff sales, delivery and product development.
