- Helcim Inc.
Participated · Series C · Aug 2026
Launched in 2020 and headquartered in Calgary, Helcim builds an end-to-end payments and software platform that includes point-of-sale, invoicing, online checkout, a smart terminal, and embedded payments tools for small and mid-sized businesses. The company reports more than 22,000 active merchants across North America, crossed CA$150 million in ARR, employs about 200 people, and is on track to process nearly CA$10 billion in annual payment volume. Helcim built its infrastructure in-house rather than reselling another processor, enabling volume-based interchange-plus pricing. In January 2026 it released an AI-powered Payment Extension to let merchants self-integrate Helcim's payments into existing software, and adoption has scaled quickly. The company intends to use its recent funding to further develop its payments platform, expand into additional financial services for merchants, and deepen partnerships with regional banks and credit unions.
- Letara
Led · Equity · Aug 2026
Founded in 2020, Letara commercializes hybrid rocket combustion technology originating from work at Hokkaido University by its co-CEOs Shota Hirai and Landon Thomas Kamps. Its hybrid engines use a plastic-based fuel (HTPB) paired with an oxidizer, which the company says is safer to handle than many conventional fuels while maintaining performance. Letara initially focused on miniaturized in-space thrusters but has expanded ambitions to build both satellite thrusters and scalable launch-class hybrid engines. Its in-development product lines include two spacecraft thrusters for satellite propulsion and one hybrid engine designed for launch vehicles and point-to-point logistics. The company raised ¥2.6B ($16M) in a pre-Series A to advance these development efforts, backed by a mix of U.S. and Japanese venture and strategic investors.
- Avatar Robotics
Participated · Seed · Aug 2026
Avatar Robotics builds humanoid robots integrated with a global fleet of remote operators and AI autonomy to perform industrial tasks such as picking, packing, kitting, sorting, cycle counting, and material movement. Since launching in December 2025, its robots have processed over 900,000 products and the company has entered a post-pilot expansion with a multi-billion-dollar warehouse operator. Avatar emphasizes a human-in-the-loop approach that delivers plug-and-play labor capacity immediately while collecting data to improve autonomy over time. The company plans to scale robot fleets, accelerate autonomy software, and grow engineering and operations teams to support broader deployments. Avatar envisions scaling to millions of robots across warehouses, factories, mines, farms, and other infrastructure, and is headquartered in San Francisco.
- KISSZU
Participated · Seed · Jul 2026
KISSZU is developing embodied adaptive AI robots aimed at supporting children's development across health and education use cases. The founding team is multidisciplinary and includes a female CTO with a PhD in Robotics and an MIT Innovation Award, and a co-founder who completed a PhD in Robotics and AI at TU Berlin in 2025. The company reports early commercial validation and pilot traction. KISSZU plans to develop hardware and software together, emphasizing prototyping, testing, safety, manufacturing, child-first design and privacy. Financially, the company has just closed a €12M pre-seed round backed by Headline, Atomico, Rerail, Global Founders Capital and a group of notable angel investors. KISSZU will be building from London and focusing on European markets initially.
- Sereact
Led · Series B · Jul 2026
Sereact builds AI software models that give robots general-purpose visual perception and manipulation abilities, and it ships those models to run on a wide range of robot hardware. The company launched Cortex 2, an AI model that trains robots on different physical behaviors so they can select the action most likely to succeed. Sereact says it does not build robots or sell services, positioning its shipped model as the product that runs on single-arm, dual-arm, humanoid and fixed-cell robots. Its technology is deployed with customers including BMW, Daimler Truck, Bol and Active Ants, and real-world deployments generate a data flywheel that improves system performance. The company was founded in 2021, is based in Stuttgart, employs about 100 people, and is using new funding to further develop Cortex 2 and expand into the U.S., including a Boston office.
