Overview

Le Fourgon operates a door-to-door service that delivers products in returnable glass and reusable containers, collects empties on the next delivery, cleans them, and reuses them up to 40 times. The company has built assortments across groceries, household and personal-care categories and serves customers via a website and mobile app with electric-vehicle delivery. Since launch it serves 65k customers across 20 French cities (over 2,500 towns), has prevented over 25 million single-use bottles and containers (about 9,250 tonnes of plastic) and aims to reuse 100 million containers by 2028. Financially, the startup completed a €8.2M extension to its Series A following a prior €10M Series A in November 2023. Planned uses for the new capital include expanding returnable product ranges, opening in two new towns in H1 2025, developing its B2B offering (currently 12% of its business) and recruiting 100 employees to support growth. The company was founded in 2021 by Charles Christory, Stéphane Dessein and Maxime Tharin and is focused on scaling reuse as an alternative to single-use packaging. Le Fourgon operates a returnable-container delivery service in France, offering a range of local and reusable products delivered door-to-door via an app and website. Over the past two and a half years it has built operations in more than 2,000 French cities and serves 40,000 customers. Customers use containers that are washed and reused up to 40 times; the company says it has helped avoid over 10 million single-use bottles and containers, representing over 300 tonnes of plastic. Le Fourgon plans to reuse 50 million containers within the next two years. The company will use the funding to expand geographic coverage, grow its private-label returnable ranges of beverages, food and household products, develop a B2B offering, and recruit new staff. Financially, Le Fourgon announced a €10M Series A, bringing total investments to €17.5M including €3M raised via crowdfunding earlier this year.
