Leap.ai uses AI to map candidates’ employment history, skills, interests, career motivation and ‘‘dream’’ employers to produce more complete candidate profiles and match them to hiring clients. The product offers personalized suggestions and positions itself as a continuous career companion rather than a one-off job board. Its client roster includes Dropbox, Uber and others, and it serves 50+ clients while focusing on candidates in New York, Boulder, Austin, Seattle and Silicon Valley. The founders are ex‑Googlers Richard Liu (CEO) and Yunkai Zhou (CTO); the company was founded about 18 months ago and currently has 10 staff. Leap.ai charges clients only when it successfully facilitates a hire and reports that 70% of its matches have passed at least the first interview. The company says it is on track to hit profitability in August and plans to extend its reach across the U.S. and into overseas markets such as China and India, including investigating local hiring options in China.
